Tactical-Store.com carries a wide variety of product lines. Because of the nature of some of these products, a limited number of items fall under exceptions to our normal shipping, customer verification, returns and export policies and procedures.

Government, Military, Law Enforcement and Institutional Orders Policy

Tactical-Store.com is proud to offer its wide selection of products for sale to Government, Military and Institutions. We make the purchase process easy and painless and go the extra step to make sure your organization is completely satisfied. We offer volume discounts to qualified organizations.

Tactical-Store.com is an authorized CCR Supplier to the United States Government, an active Department of Defense Vendor with Dun & Bradstreet number 118517445. We accept Government and Institutional purchase orders and are capable of processing various bids and RFQ requests. Sales Tax
In most instancIn most instances, we do NOT charge Sales tax UNLESS your order is shipped to an address within the state of Illinois. Illinois State law requires that we charge sales tax on the full amount of the order, not including shipping, if shipped within the state of Illinois. Because we are located in Northbrook, IL (located in Cook County), all shipments to Illinois addresses are charged at that local rate of 8.5% (After March 31st, 2008: 8.75%). No sales tax is charged when buying gift certificates. However, purchases paid for with OpticsPlanet gift certificates, will be charged sales tax if shipped to addresses within the state of Illinois.

In some cases, which vary from state to state, we may be required to charge you sales tax when items are shipped directly from the manufacturer. For example, Large Aperture Telescopes (10” and up) such as the Meade LXD 75 telescope or some Celestron Telescopes may be shipped directly from their respective factories in California. Orders for these items with a Ship-to address located in California will be charged the California rate for sales tax.

In the event that sales tax has to be added to your order, we will notify you immediately with the exact tax amount BEFORE we charge your credit card and have your order shipped.

Privacy Policy and Credit Reporting  
General Policy - Tactical Store.com protects the privacy of its customers. We share only that data necessary for validation of credit transactions, verification of identity, shipping and billing addresses and obtainment of payment.
Database - We currently maintain a mailing list for our monthly newsletters. Remove instructions are available in each newsletter.
Implied Consent - Customers doing business with Tactical Store.com, give implied consent to implementation of these policies, as set forth below.
Personal data - Tactical Store.com does not share individually identifiable personal data obtained through the order process, other than credit experience, with any other entity.

Tactical-Store.com has no liability in the case of orders arising from typographical errors and reserves the right to cancel any orders without assigning any reasons. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy of information listed and Tactical-Store.com is not responsible for any errors contained therein.  Customers outside of the United States, please see our International policy for more details on payment and pricing info.

Order Verification and Advisories
You will receive email verifications at each stage of the order process, i.e.

• Receipt of Order;
• Order Shipment;
• Advice of delay and estimated delivery time for special or out-of-stock items (most of our products are in stock and ship next business day!);
• Feedback request after you have "lived" with your purchase.

Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. Tactical-Store.com reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. All orders placed by credit card are subject to address verification by our credit and fraud avoidance department, and this may delay the processing of your order. This is all done to protect you. We cannot be held responsible if your order is delayed for any of these or other reasons. When an order needs to be shipped to an address different from the billing address or when an international credit card is used, we might need to obtain your authorization. If you want us to ship your order to an address different from your billing address, we may ask you to pay with your American Express Card to simplify the authorization procedure or to call your credit card issuing bank and add the ship to address as an "authorized alternate shipping address" or to complete our credit card authorization form. International Orders

Tactical Store has thousands of satisfied customers from around the world. We specialize in shipping internationally and endeavor to make the process as simple as possible for our customers.

Shipping: We ship most of our products worldwide (please refer to our Shipping Policy and  Export Policy and Export Restrictions Page for more information).  Shipping charges are automatically calculated during checkout when you enter your address.   For shipments outside of the US, shipping charges cannot be $0 in the cart if you select a valid shipping method for your country (see details on intl. shipping here). Please ignore the "Freight" option, it is not a free shipping option as it is used for price quotes on large volume orders.

Currently there are certain counties that we cannot ship to via USPS because of insurance reasons. To see complete list, click here. However, we can ship UPS Worldwide Express or UPS Worldwide Expedited, much faster services.

Fees, Taxes, and Restrictions:  Please keep in mind that your government or another entity in your country may impose a charge for custom and/or brokerage fees, duties and taxes on items received from the US. These charges do not originate from our company nor do we benefit from them in any way. You are responsible for payment of all custom and brokerage fees, duties and taxes that may be imposed when these goods are imported into your country. Since these fees will vary from country to country, we do not know what your fees will be and advise you to contact your local government customs agent to determine the rate for the products you would like to purchase.  For our Canadian customers, please see UPS Rates for Customs Clearance into Canada.  It is often less expensive to select one of the USPS Express Mail International or USPS Priority Mail International shipping methods that we provide to reduce the brokerage fees. To avoid a delay in receiving your product from customs, be sure that you provide us with a phone number where you can be reached when your product arrives.

Tactical Store is unable to take responsibility for knowing the local customs duties and import policies for every country we ship to.

Order Verification: The security of our customers’ information is important to us.  We reserve the right to verify all order details prior to order processing.  This includes the use of third party data resources as well as our own internal security, information and verification procedures.   

Pricing: All prices on our site are in US dollars.  If you are a non-US customer, your credit card company will normally convert your order total from US dollars to your local currency.  We do not have control over the exchange rate, but you can get an idea of what it might be by checking this site http://www.xe.com.

Returns: Tactical Store accepts requests for international exchanges. Requests must be received by Tactical Store.com within 10 days of receipt of the product. However, at this time, we are unable to accept returns internationally. Please see our full Return Policy for complete details on returns and exchanges for international orders.

Shipping Policy
Tactical-Store.com  provides FREE UPS GROUND Shipping to the lower 48 U.S. States and FREE USPS Priority Mail Shipping to all U.S. Military APO/FPO on most orders over $29.95. Please refer to our APO/FPO Shipping and Export Restrictions for more information on export to APO/FPO addresses. We offer a variety of expedited shipping options in addition to our regular shipping methods.

Most in-stock items ship within 1-2 business days from our Chicago, Illinois based warehouse, for more information on specific transit times, see here. We also charge competitive shipping rates on all shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. Territories.

Return Policy
Your satisfaction is always our top priority and we pride ourselves in our hassle free Return and Exchange Policy.  We work with our vendor partners to guarantee the quality of the products that we offer and we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will be happy to facilitate an exchange or a return to ensure your complete satisfaction.  Please note that all returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number, which can be easily obtained online.

You can return purchased items within 30 days of receipt for an exchange or full refund (less shipping charges) subject to our Return Conditions. Items that are not defective must be returned in NEW (unopened, unused, untested, and resalable) condition, in the original manufacturer packaging, with all the original contents included. There are usually no restocking fees for the return of items meeting the above mentioned conditions providing they are returned within 30 days of receipt and they do not fall under our Return Policy Exceptions and our Return and Exchange Instructions are correctly followed. Please be advised that we do reserve the right to charge a restocking fee under certain circumstances.

For your protection, items must be returned shipping prepaid, insured for the full value and safely wrapped to prevent shipping damage.  All charges related to the return of items to OpticsPlanet, Inc. are the responsibility of the customer unless the item was defective or damaged in transit (for more information on damaged items, please see our Shipping Policy), you received the wrong item, or where the fee is prohibited by law.  

If your order was lost or damaged in transit, we will be glad to offer you a replacement or a refund in the form of the original payment method after the lost or damaged items have gone through our loss and  damage investigation procedure. For more information on our shipping damage policy, please see our Shipping Policy.

Items with manufacturing defects must be sent directly to the specific manufacturer in accordance with their warranty terms after our 30 day return window.
