The brilliant 24k gold will set your scope apart, even among other Leupold scopes. Leopold's 24k gold plating is a much brighter, sharper, richer finish, and it's just as durable and long-lasting as your Leupold riflescope. Gold plating the wide Golden Ring and medallion will add immense value, while enhancing the good looks and classic lines of your premium Leupold rifle scope.
Totally Custom Anodized Finishes for Leupold Rifle scopes(please allow 8-12 weeks)
For nearly 60 years, Leupold has used a hard anodized finish on Leupold rifle scopes, because it's the toughest finish it could apply. Now, through the Leupold Custom Shop, OpticsPlanet can offer several new, exciting solid colors, fades to black, or even a unique "splatter" to any color offered. 
You can get an amazing looking one-of-a-kind riflescope with Leupold's custom anodizing processing. It is not a cheap riflescope customization option, but truly custom color selection does create a unique scope like no other!
You can choose one color, you can have your riflescope matte or gloss, with fade or a tie die.
The price arithmetic is not simple, so here is an example on how a custom finish price is calculated. (Please note: shown color swatches are representational only and they are not exact - we are working with Leupold Custom Shop to get better pictures for this option)
Base price for ONE solid matte color $150.00- Add gloss finish $100.00
- Add splatter $35.00
- Add fade $35.00
- Add tie die $35.00
To add a fade from black to red in gloss with green and red splatter would be $150.00 + $100.00 + $35.00 + $35.00 + $35.00 = $355
Some of the options that you might find in a printed Leupold Custom Shop Catalog are not available at this time. At the moment, Leupold Custom Shop offers only a solid color or a fade from black in front to your color choice at the ocular. Currently, Leupold Custom Shop offers the following color options Smoke Gray, Gun Metal Gray, Forest Green, OD Green, Cobalt Blue, Competition Red. You can also select Silver or Black anodizing if the Leupold riflescope that you selected to customize is not available in that color. If you decide to go with this customization option, you can select a solid color, or matte black faded to a matte custom color, or gloss black faded to a gloss custom color! If you have any questions about Leupold Custom Shop anodizing options, give us a call or email our riflescope expert before placing any order for colors.
Please note that if select custom anodizing color option, you need to allow eight to twelve weeks for the scope to be completed, while all other custom options are normally done within 4 - 6 week!
Leupold Custom Ballistically Matched Reticles
Leupold Custom Shop has put 50 plus years of scopesmithing experience to work, building a personalized, digitally mastered reticle from our custom reticle library, for the long distance shooter. Using state-of-the-art manufacturing technology the riflescope and reticle are perfectly tuned to your rifle's ballistic performance. The result is a custom, long distance shooting rifle scope system with astonishing accuracy. You simply enter in the form the ballistic coefficient and velocity, or alternately, the specific factory load you are using, and the Custom Shop will do the rest (make sure you get the numbers right - there are no returns on custom scopes!.
The Leupold Custom Shop uses an ultra-modern electroform metal deposition process that incorporates micron precision to create your riflescope reticle. This new, custom reticle offered though OpticsPlanet features ballistic compensation, with a 200 yard zero, and dots marking the holdover points for 300, 400 and 500 yards. We've also included reticle features for range estimating.
Leupold Rifle Scope Reticle Change
Like the scope, but want a Mil Dot or interested in another of Leupold's reticles? The Leupold Custom Shop can install nearly any of the non-illuminated reticle styles pictured in our catalog in any of our non-illuminated scopes. Choose from four sizes of Duplex, two Leupold Dots, a variety of Target Dots, or even the Leupold Mil Dot reticle to mention just a few. In most cases, illuminated reticles can only be installed in illuminated reticle scopes.
Custom Bullet Drop Compensation Dials
You know your rifle, riflescope, load, and ballistics like nobody else. Now you can have custom 
Bullet Drop Compensation (BDC) dials for your Leupold riflescope. Just fill out our ballistics worksheet with your ballistics data, and Leupold will create a precision laser engraved dial that allows you to adjust for bullet impact at extremely long range.
Leupold's positive click adjustment dials are made of aircraft-grade aluminum, with the appropriate ranges clearly and accurately laser engraved on the dial. Simply determine range to the target, then adjust to the corresponding mark on the elevation dial to achieve startling long range precision. If you're a serious long-distance shooter, this is a simple, yet extremely valuable modification to your rifle scope that will prove its worth immediately in the field. Target-Style Adjustment Dial Changes
Custom Target-style adjustment knobs is one of the examples examples of the adjustment dial options for your Leupold scope. Leupold Custom Shop can install the dials of your choice in almost any leupold riflescope(the LPS models being the only exception). We can even change the dials of the Leupold VX-III Long Range M3 to those of the Leopold VX-III Long Range M1. You can have the elevation dial alone changed, or change both. The combinations are many, and the choice is all yours. If you are an expert target shooter, adjustment dial option is a great upgrade to you Leopold riflescope.

All Custom Riflescope orders are prepaid, and therefore we will charge your card for the full amount at the moment we send the details of the order to Leupold Custom Shop for customization.
- The custom work is done on brand new Leupold rifle scopes at the factory. At this time we are unable to accept orders on any riflescopes that have been purchased through any other means but OpticsPlanet online store.
- Attention Leupold VX-L riflescope buyers! Optics Planet does not charge the additional $20.00 extra to modify each of the VX-III reticle prices and $15.00 extra to each of the other VXIII option prices to modify your VX-L.
- Custom modifications can be ordered only at the time of purchase - we are unable to accept any changes once the order is placed.
- The order is normally done within 4 to 12 weeks (allow 8 to 12 weeks if you choose an anodized coating).
