The Forster Hand Outside Neck Pilot is designed for people who do reloading and want a guarantee that the bullet will be released in a consistent manner from the case neck. At ignition it is imperative for the case neck to expand allowing the release of the bullet. If one side of the neck is thicker than another the bullet will release prematurely causing a misalignment of bullet-to-bore. When this occurs accuracy is dramatically impacted. Mandrels which are the steel points are ground 0.002 to 0.025 inches smaller than the diameter of the bullet providing excellent performance.image

Features of Forster Hand Held Neck Turner:

  • Precision machined with special angles and reliefs designed specifically for neck turning; cutter approach angle allows turning right up to the case shoulder.
  • Micrometer adjustment knob allows fine adjustments in either direction; easily adjustable to .0005 inch. Index marks at increments of .001 inch are clearly stamped on the tool body.
  • Dedicated Pilots are sold separately, .002 inch to .0025 inch smaller than the bullet diameter.
