LPVO stands for Low Powered Variable Optic. This is an increasingly common term for LPVO Rifle Scopes that start with 1x magnification and max out at a relatively low magnification level. Low Power Variable Optic (LPVO) are different from traditional LPVO Rifle Scopes (and perfect for AR15s) because you can use the scope as a red dot replacement at 1x magnification. This will give you most of the benefits of a traditional red dot sight (wide field-of-view, both eyes open shooting, better situational awareness, etc.) but also the ability to turn up the magnification and make long-distance shots more accurately.
