Spyderco's unique Chaparral family of knives is named after a plant native to the Western U.S. that is known for its ability to regenerate after harsh weather conditions. Its resilient spirit inspires every member of the Chaparral series, which celebrates a diverse range of handle materials by incorporating them into the same, sleek prestige folder format. This remarkable expression of the Chaparral "breaks the mold" by showcasing an elite, high-performance blade crafted from CPM REX 121. Specifically formulated to offer the greatest wear resistance, attainable hardness, and red hardness available in a high speed steel, in knife blades this high-vanadium, cobalt-bearing tool steel offers exceptional sharpness and unparalleled edge retention. This knife's full-flat-ground, satin-finished blade is supported by a stout back lock mechanism and further showcased by peel-ply-textured G-10 scales in a distinctive burnt orange color. A deep-pocket wire clip completes its ambidextrous design by offering a choice of left- or right-side tip-up carry.image
