Machined from: Carbon steelAvailable for the following calibers: .45EGW machines steel feed ramp inserts in our shop from carbon steel to replace gouged or over polished feed ramps in aluminum and steel frames. This allows for the use of aggressive hollowpoint ammo without damage to the alloy frame or a loss of reliability.Installation by a gunsmith is required; preferably utilizing a fresh mill equipped with a digital read out. Installation instructions are provided with the part.EGW is no longer taking gun work and cannot install this part for you. Note: The bullet contact point on ramped barrels is not low enough (.3) to make a 45 reliable because the bullet hits below the feed ramp of a ramped barrel. Thus a ramped barrel is not a viable cure for aluminum frame guns whereas the EGW feed ramp insert is the reliable solution.The set screw size for this is 6/32 x 1/4.
