Product Info for Oberwerk 25/40x100mm Military Observation Binoculars w/ tripod & case & w
The Oberwerk 25x/40x100mm Military Observation Binocular, an Oberwerk flagship product, come with 100mm semi-apochromatic triplet multi-coated objectives (that's about 4" across!). This is the very same binocular that was so favorably reviewed in the June 2000 issue of Sky & Telescope magazine. Do you have a magnificent view from your oceanfront, lakefront, hillside, mountain, or penthouse property? Nothing can compare with this high-quality optical instrument. Rotating ocular turrets of Oberwerk 25/40x100mm Military Observation Binoculars allow high-power viewing at 40x (the binoculars include both 25x and 40x oculars mounted on rotating turrets!) True giants, Oberwerk 25/40x100mm Military Observation Binoculars are two feet in length and weigh over 26 lbs! Until recently, they were only available to the Chinese military. With this much light-gathering power, they are ideal for astronomy- for planetary observation and comet hunting. Apparent field of view is a very wide 67.![]()
The 40x100mm's are also fabulous for terrestrial applications. If you've got a home with a view, enjoy it to the utmost with this magnificent instrument. Comes complete with rock-solid wooden tripod, mount (which is also a removable table-top tripod), and nylon case.

Here are some images from Oberwerk.com to help you realize the power of Oberwerk 25/40x100mm Binoculars used for Terrestrial Viewing. The Jamestown water tower (below) was photographed at a distance of exactly one mile. From this location, Oberwerk observed the water tower with Oberwerk 25/40x100mm Giant Binoculars.
The field of view was noted at both 25x and 40x magnification. The observed image for each level of magnification is represented below. Note: Even at this distance, the actual image in the binoculars was sharper and more defined than the digital photographs that are shown below.
